Do you work for Xero?

  • I love that I can snap a photo of a receipt and upload from my phone when I purchase something so it’s off my plate right away.
  • Hubdoc links to my Xero account (which is connected to my business bank accounts) and then it automatically reconciled into suggested categories.
  • Sync everything as needed into your accounting software along with the attachment and even export to your other cloud file storage systems.
  • It takes a bit of dialing in at the onset but afterwards can be set to work very well on its own.
  • If you’re looking to automate categorization of expenses and help avoid human error, this is a good option.

For many Xero users, a free Hubdoc account is already included, so there is no reason not to try it. After years of using desktop bookkeeping software and having to drive my hard copy files to my bookkeeper each month I was looking for ways to go digital and save myself time, money and headache. My bookkeeper told me about Hubdoc as we made the switch to an online system and it was a no brainer to set it up. I love that I can snap a photo of a receipt and upload from my phone when I purchase something so it’s off my plate right away. I am a huge fan of a recent feature that allows me to snap multiple pictures for multipage or bigger documents so that my bookkeeper sees the full picture together vs pieces.

For small to medium size businesses, Hubdoc is useful in reducing the amount of data entry you need to do and to keep track of your receipts and other financial documents. Hubdoc has been acquired by Xero and integrates very well with it as well as other accounting software packages. Although there are other similar apps, Hubdoc is one of the most cost-effective and if you are using Xero, you will probably have free access to Hubdoc included in your subscription plan. If not, then you should take advantage of Hubdoc’s 30-day free trial. When you send receipts, invoices, or bank account statements to Hubdoc, it automatically extracts the key information.

Does Hubdoc integrate with Xero?

I only use Hubdoc for business purposes which is where I feel it is most suitable. I probably wouldn’t use it for personal stuff as I don’t track personal that strictly. Because Hubdoc is owned by Xero, you can expect to have no problems at all integrating with Xero.

I would recommend this only for companies where a massive chunk of expense normal balance are recurring or from the same set of vendors. If you’re all over the place then this doesn’t save a ton of time in my experience. Iv been using it for 14 months now and really ready to move to FreeAgent or something else. Hubdoc is best for small to medium businesses, and its software is one of the cheapest. If you already use Xero, then it is definitely worth using since it can very easily be integrated with your Xero software.

They will send receipts and invoices into Hubdoc and we then post those to QBO. We became familiar with Hubdoc because it offers a lifetime free trial account for QuickBooks Online ProAdvisors. Some time back we registered for an account (why not, it’s free, right?) and I did the certification course they offer. I held off for a while because I did not have a real need for it at the time.
